USD Safety
USD is committed to ensuring the highest safety standards on our work. With over 25 years as a leader in our industry, we have a fully developed system of accident and injury prevention. Nothing is more important than safety. While demolition work can be dangerous, the hazards can be controlled and eliminated. Some of our focus is on the following:
- Being prepared and evaluating a hazard awareness before work starts
- Using personal protective gear and proper well maintained equipment
- Providing necessary training
- Rigid compliance with USD Health and Safety Program and demolition industry standards
Proper planning and evaluating task hazards is the only way to be fully prepared. Each member of our team is trained on key subjects, such as demolition training requirements, hazard awareness, respiratory protection personal fall arrest systems, rigging and crane safety, lead and asbestos awareness, working in a confined space, and how to properly use and secure their personal protective gear. Shift begin with safety meetings followed by the USD Stretch and Flex Program to reduce soft tissue injuries.
In order to uphold the highest industry standards our safety, environmental, and occupational procedures are regularly reviewed and updated in compliance with federal and state guidelines. Daily inspections and assessments are also completed regularly, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the National Demolition Association and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
As we continue to take on new projects our target remains fixed: zero on-site accidents and injuries.
