Chicago Stadium

Known affectionately as the Mad House on Madison, the Chicago Stadium was torn down by U.S. Dismantlement in 1994. The stadium held all sorts of events, from concerts, conventions, the Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Ice Capades and of course was the home of the Bulls and Blackhawks. In a matter of hours the hockey boards could be removed, the ice covered and a basketball floor installed. Located where the parking lot north of the existing United Center is now, this was building Michael Jordan won the first 3 of his 6 championships as well as the Bobby Hull led Stanley Cup win over the Red Wings in 1961.
